Canon Events

Gildas sends his owl familiar to search by the lake and burned-out tree landmarks; the party finds a large bushy tree, meets a centaur, and is led to the fey village of Thataways, where tree-houses, centaurs, satyrs, dryads, an earth elemental, and a blue-energy-infused mother tree dominate the village. Makani visits the temple of Eerol in Thataways, asks zealous centaurs about the centaurs, Jennifer, and Urgan's Axe, is told nature provides all and that she should commune with nature, and hears Nameloa whisper through running water, "A storm is coming." [Thataways] (social)
Faban and Brigit visit the music circle, where Faban joins a satyr violinist, plays Stars and the Centaurs, and learns from the satyr that Urgan's Axe is buried under the tree and that the tree is a Well of Magic. [Thataways] (social)
Gildas and Corvinas explore the barter sector, where Gildas impresses a street magician and learns that one of the five tree sages is a fey elvish witch, three are shape-shifting druids, and one is a birdfolk wizard who keeps the library and much of the village's defensive magic. The party enters the central tree by saying they were sent by the Messengers of the Queen, meets the birdfolk wizard in the library, asks about the hag and nearby coven of witches, inspects the Book of the Infernal, and learns that infernal items leave marks and should be handled with care. The birdfolk wizard escorted the party to a partial sage council where the witch sage and centaur druid heard about the hag's plan to push gnolls into attacking the village, the demonic god Yongu, the infernal orb, and the party's search for Urgan's Axe. [Thataways] (social)
The sages identified the Allegiance of Stars as outsiders threatening Thataways and said the full council might allow the party to use Urgan's Axe if the party took care of that threat. [Thataways] (discovery)
Faban busked in Thataways that night and gave the proceeds to clerics; at the inn, Gildas cast detect magic and saw an infernal mark on Corvinas' forehead but no mark on himself. [Thataways] (discovery)
The next morning, the full sage council agreed to let the party use Urgan's Axe if they promised to return it and handle the Allegiance of Stars problem; the sages produced the leather-wrapped axe from a rune, gave care instructions, and Gildas placed it in the bag of holding. When Makani asked about the Celestial Isles, the sages said the outer rim had been devastated by primordial storms from chaos with no known counter short of god-like power; when asked about Jennifer, they said she is a strong spellcaster, the last of a dead breed, and lives far north in the mountains. The sages said there are other Wells of Magic across the world, that the Wells can help explain the current technology failures, and that when the party returned with Urgan's Axe the sages would allow them to speak with the Thataways Well of Magic; the party asked for and received an escort out of the fey wood. As the party prepared to leave Thataways, the satyr violinist who had jammed with Faban blessed Faban's fiddle with magical runes, increasing the instrument's quality and brilliance of tone. [Thataways] (acquisition)
