The party fights a regenerating construct-like creature in Bentrios; Faban is nearly mortally wounded, Corvinas smites it with Mihira's holy energy, and Bridgit lands the final sneak attack that destroys it. [Bentrios] (combat)
After the battle, the street is ruined where the creature manifested from the material components of the road, and a nearby nobleman emerges demanding answers. [Bentrios] (discovery)
Gildas detects magic in the rubble, Faban retrieves a round red orb glowing orange, and Gildas determines that it was planted, uses long-lost magic, and contains evocation magic. [Bentrios] (discovery)
Gildas also senses strong protective and concealing magic from Faban's leather satchel, and Faban becomes defensive, insisting that it is his burden to bear. [Bentrios] (discovery)
In a nearby building's basement room, Gildas gazes into the orb, sees a fiery realm resembling the Nine Hells and the Demon Lord of Rage, then breaks contact and drops the orb, cracking it and releasing some of its contents before it is mended. [Bentrios] (discovery)
The party decides to seek Mayor Baron Wells at Bentrios Tower; as a tempest forms, Makani realizes the storm is unnatural and caused by the Demon Lord of Lightning bringing it down on the city. [Bentrios] (discovery)
The party reaches the tilted Bentrios Tower, rushes to the mayor's penthouse, finds the door ajar, and overhears infernal speech: Baron Wells says he has done all he can, while a second voice demands that he has five days to get what is needed. [Bentrios] (discovery)
Roon charges into the room, the demon lord calls him a foolish mortal, disappears in a flash, and the ground shifts as Bentrios Tower rights itself. [Bentrios] (discovery)
The party interrogates Baron Wells, who says demons are collecting items from around the Gale and seek Urgan the Great's lost axe, also known as the Blood Rage Great Axe of Urgan, which is rumored to be infused with Urgan's rage energy and hidden underground. [Bentrios] (discovery)
Faban recalls an ancient ballad saying Urgan's bride, Jennifer Wilbreta, a pale elf of the Fey, traveled south from the northern mountains and buried Urgan's axe somewhere in the central plains. [Bentrios] (discovery)
Baron Wells is constrained by vows but confirms that the axe is definitely underground and shows the party a map pointing to an unexplored forest teeming with Fey Wild magic. [Bentrios] (discovery)
